The dreadful YMCA
As I headed to the dreadful YMCA this morning at 5 am to swim more laps, I was praying for different people, and I realized that I have been doing most of the talking and not a lot of listening (reading my Bible). I was explaining to the Lord, that during these winter months I can become depressed if I am not careful so I tend to put in my mind things that are light, happy, and easy. If I get to thinking to much I tend to spiral downward. So I told the Lord that he knows me and that I am trying to stay close to him by simply acknowledging the simple things in life. This morning while I rode to the dreadful YMCA the full moon was beautiful, I told him I know he can do all things and that I shouldn't get caught up in the daily stresses. That he can carry my burdens and make things light on me. I know when I left the dreadful YMCA (can you tell not my favorite place to go) and saw the beautiful sunrise that there is joy in the morning. So when you feel like you not in great communication with the Almighty instead of feeling guilty acknowledge him and his power, thank him for his provision, and remember he knows your make-up and he will work with you.

I just want to laugh...
Do you ever have days you just want to laugh, I mean a in your gut, you can't hardly breath laugh. I need one of those....my husband makes me laugh regularly, my children are quite funny in very different ways. But I have a couple of friends, I am the matriarch of the group, there is Cathy, Kim and Gaby and 3 times a year we make it a point to go out for our birthdays. Cathy is in January, mine and Gaby are June and Kim is September so we get to space our meals throughout the year. There are times that my face hurts after we have been together. We laugh the whole time we eat, our meal usually takes us about 2-3 hrs. We discuss our kids, husbands, jobs, life, church, about anything you can think of and usually laugh at all of them. Find someone and laugh today......

I Long For
We are getting ready to start a new Bible study at church, Anne Graham Lotz, I Saw the Lord.
it is a older study but we have never read it and I like her, so I am the leader, enough said.
At the beginning I was struck by something, She wrote
I Long for...
the wind of His Spirit to breathe calmness into the chaos of my life, (peace through all we are going through)
the fullness of His wisdom to order the thoughts in my mind, (making me wise in all that I do)
the sufficiency of His strength to undergird the weakness of my body, (hold me up when I feel like I can't take anymore)
the abundance of His blessing to saturate the poverty of my spirit, (to make me feel happy even when I am poor at heart)
the joy of His will to give rich pleasure to my journey, (to show me the goodness that life has to offer)
the refuge of His arms to shield me from my fears, (to protect me when I don't know the next step)
the gentleness of His touch to reawaken the feelings of my heart, ( to help me feel again when I think I have lost all feeling)
the compassion of His heart to enfold me and hold me close ( To love me and protect me no matter what)
I added the parentheses from my thoughts. I Long also.......
