Last of the 40's

Today is my first day of the last year of my 40's next birthday will be the Big 5-0.  I not a big sentimental kinda of girl.  But yesterday I started thinking how fast my life is, like everyone else who pays bills.  I told the kids, if you could pay your bills once a year, life would go a lot slower, you wouldn't have to be worrying about the next house or car payment.  Back to my sentimental thoughts, I always thought 50 was old, now that I am 49, I don't think that at all.  I feel very young at heart, but my body does say every once in a while," hey you can't do that as easy as you use to.Don't kid yourself."Also as I have thought about this being my last year in the 40's. I think do I have regrets and what are they, are there some regrets I can change now, is there something I want to do differently, is there something new I want to try. I am in the middle of my life, I might live to be 99, I really hope the Lord comes back before then. I would rather ride out on a cloud when the trumphet sounds. Josh asked me how I liked the 40's.  Honestly, I kind of enjoyed my 20's having children is stressfull, my 30's were great, hardly no sickness or pains, the 40's have been kinda of difficult, I have learned alot about myself these last 10 years, I am thinking the 50's are going to be pretty good.

Alot of Riding

Joey and I left yesterday morning at 7 drove to Virginia to mow at the mt house, his mother and her sister were staying for the weekend. So that is 2 hrs up, 2 1/2 hours mowing and 2 hours back.  I rode a lot yesterday.  I had to be back for a 2 o'clock  insurance appt. then worked  till 5.  Went home and made plum jelly till 10:30 last night.  Today I am tired.....Getting back to my point on the riding.  Joey and I have always enjoyed this time together, we do alot of talking about theological things usually during this ride. Plus it keeps him awake, he likes to nap while driving....Yesterday our discussion was on working out your Christianity. Once you are saved you don't automatically become perfect and holy.  It is a work in progress.  Sadly, many Christians who have had a relationship with Christ for many years act as a baby who doesn't want to give up their soft baby food for real meat.  They really don't want to know more than the basics, they want to go to church, be told how to live and what not to do but don't want to see what the Bible, and how the Holy Spirit directs them individually.  I know that in the end it is up to me and me alone to listen to God and his leadings.  That I have to want more just like everyone else, and when you ask God to show you more growing lessons he will. He will feed you all the real meat and potatoes you can eat on.

Pool

First Big Pool Trip
We took our first pool trip of the summer, Harper is never whinny, but yesterday she was.  Josh told me she did not sleep well the night before and it showed.  I tried to get her a nap that morning so that she would be in a good mood for her first pool day.  After about 3 tries she finally let me and Audrey pool her around in the water. I think it was just a little over whelming. We will try again next week.

Father's day

Best DAD Award!!!!
To say I am jealous of my daughter is an understatement.  She has the best Dad in the world. As a daughter there are certain bonds between a Dad and their daughters. I always told Joey after Audrey was born it will be easy for you and Josh, but a daughter is something you will have to work at.  Most men don't know what to do with girls. Joey took her shopping which he hated but did it anyway. He took her hunting some, Audrey gets bored easy. But they found a love of exercising together that worked. Praise the Lord I don't always ( hardly ever) have to do this with her.I think when she finally leaves the nest, they both will struggle with not being together. To say I am jealous of my son is and understatement also.  He and his Dad are the best of friends, they work together alot, they eat lunch together almost everyday, they hunt together.  I finally told Joey the other day he had to quit calling Josh at home at night, he saw him during the day, leave him alone at night.  But Josh will usually end up calling him instead...It is wonderful to have a Godly father figure, I think my children assume most Dad's are like theirs, I have tried to tell them they are extremely blessed...
